A most unsymphonic pigeon

Goose Without Gravy

I had a crossover a point. We all do. A veritable weakness. Somewhere between a somnambulistic spiritual bliss and a sometimes trading reality. And if you’re shot through at this point, cannonballed if you will, as I was, between wind and water, which is not to say between a fart and a piss but instead at that vulnerable point in your hull around the waterline which if breached proceeds to gulp in fatal amounts of seawater as you plunge up and down, rolling forwards on the weather, then you are soon sunk. It’s not an easy spot to defend. Its best armour lies in the boundary of the intrinsic strength of compassion and charity—the state of being simultaneously oblivious and aware of all things. This in itself is basically the apogee of being human. However, such a state does not always have a soaring stock value when it comes to putting your pants on in the morning, washing the dishes, taking a shit, doing your taxes... Thus, unless you are one of the very few seamlessly and effortlessly attuned to this state then we are all prone, often very much so, to let one’s guard down from time to time. Spirituality is the only way to stay afloat, going like the clappers; and accepting your vulnerability is the only way to deal with the cannonballs. Now it may not save the ship, and the ship may not even meant to be saved, but better tools with which to refit while at sea would probably be a good thing to have, right?
